Polis Urban Bundle

The objective of this studio is to design, hybridize and build Tirana Urban Bundle.

Urban Bundles appears at large as serial public installation that provides initial condition for people gathering, meetings, collaborative working and participating in the process of producing and maintaining their social exchange. It is a political tool of the community that seek to exert influence on the development of relations between private and public life in their city. Each urban bundle is a kind of hot spot, buzzing with energy, exchange, invention, and dedication to a better life.

Students will develop individual prototypes of Tirana Urban Bundle and its hybrid according to the urban demand, program, identity of his/her own chosen neighborhood. Excellent and feasible designs will be selected to be build and used by public during Tirana Architecture Week 2012.

The aim of the studio is to expose the students to the designing, hybridizing and building process as it is to become usual in the responsible and socially engaged architectural and urban practice which they will have to face after the studies.
