Ecological Tube

As the Bundle grows and “infects” a left over building, it shapes differently, the functions start to become permanently.

The Environmental “Tube” is a physical experience, an awareness transmitted through personal involvement.

The structural frame is transformed in a volume working as a cover surface. The modules move according to the amount of sun radiation, changing configuration and the amount of light in the inside.

Inside the tube are optimal environmental conditions. On the plastic cylinders in the inner part, is visualized in real time the outside condition of cities pollution.

Elements such as grass or vegetation and water, are applied inside the tube, tending on optimizing the inner conditions, and creating a isolated ecosystem.

ESCAPE to the BUNDLE

In our approach the Urban Bundle is a space of escape. An enclave from the outer space, located in a existing urban area, a revolution toward the actual city state development, urban condition and urban acoustic and air pollution.

Where it is located:

The Bundle is a movable space, spread like a “virus” from urban “empty” spaces to urban “left-over” buildings. The Bundle is a structure that works in itself, grows from itself, or affects an already existing building.

The Bundle will move as a truck, it will be packed in itself and transported in another area in the city.

Its performance is depending on the location, where monitoring of the urban condition will differ from one area to the other.

Its performance:

-       The Bundle is an awareness of ecological issues (urban noise and air pollution), a space of continuous communication, through social networks, public discussions and hyper-textual spaces.

-       Besides being an enclave, or a “sanctuary”, an escape from the outer condition, the bungle is as well a public demonstration, seen from the outside.

-       A place of interactivity, monitoring the inner activity, the outer condition and the amount of frequentation of the Bundle.

How it works:

-       The bundle will be a space enclosed by packed panels, composed by led light screens, that transmits fragments of images of the inner part (conversations etc.), attracting the passing by citizens.

-       The whole structure will have sensors that count the number of persons in the inner part, sensors that monitor the urban conditions (noise and pollution), and projectors that transmit images to the walls showing partial information of the event in the inner part. As well the cover surface will be a signal of information of what is happening from noise and pollution.
